Islam is a great religion, it does not need to attack reason or logic to hold. It has nothing to hide. It is not based on blind imitation, or blind acceptance. The argument for its correctness agrees with reason from beginning to end, as has been shown in the article “Foundations of the Religion“. There is no argument based on valid premises and sound structure that can put a dent in it. This is what we Sunnis believe, and any religion that does not meet this criteria is not the religion of Aļļaah.
Yaser Qadi is out to show otherwise in his The Theological Implications of the Story of Ibrahim & the Stars (Ibn Taymiyyah vs. the Mutakallimun). He now opposes the proof of the Creator’s existence, not by showing that the premises do not hold or that the argument is false, but by saying in essence: “it is not mentioned in the Qur’aan, is complicated, was not used by the companions and there is no need, because everybody knows by the fiţrah.” Thus he implies that it is prohibited. Of course, it is all based on the talk of arch-anthropomorphist, Ibn Taymiyyah.

One is not a Muslim (even if they believe they are) if one either believes, doubts or says that Allàh resembles the creations or exists in a direction or place. The Islamic consensus on the matter is one did not truly believe in Allàh and is classified a kafir (non-believer). Immediately one must STOP the blasphemy which contradicts the Islamic belief and must correct ones belief (i.e. Allàh does not resemble the creations in any way and He exists without a how and without a place) and must utter with one’s tongue in an audible level:
أشهدُ أنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّه وأشهدُ أنَّ محمّدًا رَّسولُ اللَّه
I testify that no one is god except Allàh and I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allàh.
If one repents by admitting the truth of what he either denied in the heart, doubted or said and utters the testification of faith, then one has returned back to Islam.
Muhammad Ahmad,
Assalaamu^alaykum, what you are saying is true. If you read the end of the article, you will find Aţ-Ţaĥaawiyys declaration regarding this. Believing that Allaah is in a place or direction necessitates believing that He has a shape. This is because being in one location and not others means that one must have a border that defines the location one is in, because something in place is either in a specific place, and not in others, or it would be everywhere. This border, of course, must have shape, an a shape needs a creator to define it. More on this in the article above.
Salam Alaikum
Jazak Allah khayr for your effort sheikh.
May Allah guide these people or shower his la’nah on them handsomely. They are indeed from the sharrul bariyyah.
The real irony is this:
they accuse us of blind following… and no one is a blinder follower than these extremist wahabi mulhids who blindly follow ibn taymiya and the mass murderer of Muslims, the disciple of iblis, the apostate, ibn abdul Wahab.
At some point in time, this idiot mentions ibn taymiya proved something using “common sense”. This clown should really then explain how ibn taymiya’s usage of “common sense” is different to the Sunnis’ usage of “logic” and “rational thinking”.
These mal’ooneen have been hell bent on making a mockery of Islam and destroying it from within. la’anahumullaah.

However, when the ignorant Muslims see them, there is a great risk that they will lend their ears. This is why the mainstream Muslims (Ahlussunnah wal-Jamma^ah) say: “The Wahabies are more of a threat to the Muslim’s belief than the Christians and Jews, because when Muslims are confronted with a Christian or Jew, they can differentiate and know they are non-believers. Whereas the ‘ignorant’ Muslim, who has not acquired the basic obligatory knowledge of the Islamic religion, can be infected and misguided by the Wahabie poison.” It is like milk which is pure and white in colour, all it takes is one drop of lethal poison. The colour and smell of the milk is not altered in anyway, but if consumed it can kill instantly.

Circulate it, print it, distribute it, sell it. As you wish. There is no copyright in Islam, least of all religious knowledge.
Unfortunately the MM site where the original article of Yasir Qadhi was posted are not allowing this to be posted there…
As-Salaamu ‘Alaykum to all,
I would like to share something will all of you just to show you how the Salafis disrespect the great scholars of this ummah and in how they try to cover up our tradition. Al-Manhaj.com or the The Salafi Society of North America translated one of Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbalee’s (rahimahullaah) works titled Kashf-ul-Kurbah fee wasfi Haali Ahlil-Ghurbah (Alleviating Grievances in Describing the Condition of the Strangers) which is a book that describes the Strangers (al Ghurabaa) whom will appear during the last days. In the introduction the Pseudo-Salafi translator Isma’eel Alarcon praises the Imaam and even considers Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbalee’s (rahimahullaah) as being on the “Salafee Methodology”. Then he condemns the Imaam for having “Sufi ideas” which “were prevalent during his time”…. subhanallaah! In an ironic way the Salafis show us how tasawwuf was indeed fully ingrained in the Islamic tradition! LOL… WOW… you can never cover haqq! Haqq will always manifest no matter how much people try to cover up the truth!
Whats even more astonishing is that they refused to translate the end of the book because the Imaam basically talks about “inward strangeness” in how the inner spiritual states of the Sufis make them from amongst the Ghurabaa! It is if the Pseudo-Salafis are trying to cover up or censor that fact in order to hijack or steal the tile of al-Ghurabaa for themselves lol… caught red-handed! How sad and pathetic of an attempt. We don’t even have to refute the Pseudo-Salafis because they do a pretty good job in refuting themselves! They even left a note at the end of the book and this what they have to say:
[This is where we will end the translation of the treatise. As stated in the introduction, the Imam
goes into discussion of themes founded upon Sufi concepts which have no basis in Islaam and
which have little benefit, so All praise is due to Allaah through whose Grace all good deeds are
completed.]
WOW… what a perfect example of Pseudo-Salafi censorship! Anyhow here are some excerpts taken from the introduction :
INTRODUCTION TO THE BOOK
All praise is for Allaah and may the peace and blessings of Allaah be on His Final Messenger, his family
and those who follow him in goodness until the Day of Recompense. To Proceed.
This book is a translation of a short treatise entitled Kashf-ul-Kurbah fee wasfi Haali Ahlil-Ghurbah, or
Alleviating Grievances in Describing the Condition of the Strangers, written by the great Imaam, Al-
Haafidh Zayn-ud-Deen Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbalee, rahimahullaah.
In this treatise, Ibn Rajab deals with the topic of the Strangers, or Al-Ghurabaa…
And towards the end of his
treatise, he begins to divert from the topic by going deep into the issue of inner strangeness, sometimes
focusing on aspects that have no basis in Islaam, such as talk about the ‘Aarif, wajd, khulwah, etc. These
were Sufi ideas that were prevalent during his time…
Shaikh Saleem Al-Hilaalee said: “Ibn
Rajab (rahimahullaah) treaded the Manhaj of the Salaf with regard to the issues of Eemaan and
acquiring knowledge. And he supported it and defended it from the false arguments of the opponents.
His books are loaded with that. And he wrote some treatises specifically on this topic such as his book
‘Bayaan Fadlu ‘Ilm-is-Salaf ‘alaal-Khalaf.’ However, there can be found traces of Sufism in his books,
may Allaah protect him from inclining towards it’s dangerous paths, due to what Allaah has given him
from vast knowledge of the Narrations and a clear Salafee Methodology.” [Iqaadh-ul-Himam: pg. 9]
